Thiago Alcantara has been heavily linked with the English Premier League Champions; Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window.
Liverpool after lifting their first-ever English Premier League trophy last season, has set forth to make the team stronger. And Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney admits that he is bothered over Liverpool’s potential transfers.
Thiago Alcantara nearly signed for Manchester United in 2013 to play next to Wayne Rooney if it wasn’t for David Moyes, who rejected the signing. Thiago is supposedly on his way to Liverpool for a deal ranging between £20-30 million.
Thiago is keen for the Liverpool transfer to take place, but currently has his mind on the Champions League final, which Bayern Munich will contest on Sunday night against the French side Paris Saint Germain.
Rooney spoke about his concern in The Sunday times saying:
“He almost came to United in 2013 and now Liverpool are linked with him,” Rooney wrote in The Sunday Times.
“He’s one of the best midfielders around – I just hope he doesn’t go there!
“He can take the ball, be composed on it, keep things ticking over – and he’ll put his foot in. He’s an all-round midfielder, really, with a bit of everything.
“He backs up that Bayern press and he drops in between the centre halves to take the ball yet can also join in when they’re playing around the other box too.
“He’s a great player. It would be great to see him in the Premier League, actually.”
The English premier League Champions, have already signed one player this summer, Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos, a Greek left back who cost around £12 million.
