Super Eagles and French Ligue 1 club Lille striker, Victor Osimhen, has lost his father, Patrick Osimhen, to the cold hands of death.
The 21-year-old superstar confirmed his father’s death in a Twitter post he shared on Sunday morning, May 24.
He wrote: ‘RIP DAD. no word to describe this feeling.’
Osimhen currently plays for French Ligue 1 side, Lille.
The 21-year-old has drawn interest from top clubs in Europe and the Premier League, including the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.
His current contract with Lille will expire at the end of the 2023/2024 season.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Lille have all sent condolence messages to Osimhen over his sad bereavement.
Reacting to the sad news, NFF wrote on their verified Twitter handle: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Take heart and stay strong @victorosimhen9.”
While Lille wrote and Elite Media translated from French: “Today we learned with great sadness of the passing of @victorosimhen9’s father.
“The entire LOSC family is joined in grief with Victor and his family. He has our full support during this difficult time.”
