The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the announcement of results for the March 9 elections in Imo State.
Imo INEC took the decision on Monday by 5:30 am due to an argument which broke out between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state party agent, Uche Onyegucha and Democratic Alternative (DA) party agent, Paschal Onwukaike over the announcement of the results from Ideato South local government area.
“All the electoral officers were taken to a particular place to write the results.
“Also, the party agents were driven away by the agents of the government and the results were written in favour of one candidate,” Onyegucha claimed, while Onwukaike challenged him on why the result should not be announced.
The fight grew, leading to the arrest of them both, and hence, the suspension of the results announcement.
