The People’s Democratic Party, PDP held a protest today at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.
The members of the party led by their National Chairman, Uche Secondus held a protest at the INEC office in Abuja today, demanding the commission to release the original results of the February 23, presidential and national assembly elections.
Speaking to the commission’s officials at the protest today, the PDP Chairman Secondus said that the protest is a peaceful action to show their displeasure with the conduct of the previous elections especially the involvement of the military in the polls.
He alleged that the previous election was massively rigged across the country and asked if the case will not be the same in the supplementary elections on Saturday.
He called on INEC to promise that the forthcoming Saturday elections will be conducted in a becoming manner without military involvement and irregularities.
He bemoaned that the PDP leadership across the country has been constantly harassed by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and called for a stop to it.
Finally, he reiterated that the military must not be involved in the coming Saturday elections.
