The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole has rejected the alleged plot of the Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi to dethrone the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike.
The APC National Chairman stated that the party is not in alignment with the African Action Congress party (AAC) and its candiadate, Awara Biokpomabo who is the main rival of PDP’s governor Wike in the yet to be concluded Rivers governorship election.
Recall that the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) did not feature any candidate in the Rivers Guber elections following the Supreme court’s annulment of the party’s primaries and congress.
Recall also that the Minister for Transportation, Amaechi earlier announced that the All Progressives Congress will be backing the candidate of the African Action Congress, Awara Biokpomabo in the Rivers election.
“This morning, the leadership of the party met and agreed that we would work with a party called African Action Congress (AAC), while we are still in court to reclaim our mandate.” Amaechi said.
However, reacting to Amaechi’s statement, APC National Chairman Oshiomole while speaking in an interview with ChannelsTV stated that neither he nor the APC party’s National Working Committee was aware of such alignment announced by Amaechi.
“I have never spoken at any forum that we have aligned with any party. There is only one party (I oversee) and that is APC, if there is going to be alignment, I will know.
“I can’t choose to be in the know. That has never been discussed with me or with any of the members of the national working committee.” Oshiomole denied.
