Manchester City Manager, Pep Guardiola has reportedly said that the Citizens are not favourites to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy at the end of the season.
Even after giving an outstanding show last night in their 7 nil win against Bundesliga outfit, Schalke04, the City boss believes that they are still a long way from being favourites. Despite this, he believes that the Citizens are capable of winning the much-coveted trophy because it is their desire to win it.
Guardiola regarded Manchester City players as teenagers when it comes to the UEFA champions league.
“We are teenagers in this competition that’s my feeling. It does not excuse, of course, we want to win it,” said the Catalan coach on Monday.
“You have to dream and point as high as possible but at the same time you have to accept there are other teams thinking the same with a lot of quality and lot of talent.”
Manchester City, after qualifying for the Champions League quarter-finals will play English Championship side, Swansea City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
