Amidst the disheartening news of the Ohen primary school building collapse in Lagos State yesterday, former vice-president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki amongst many others have sent their heartfelt condolences to the victims of the tragic incident and their families.
The building which was a three-storey upstair, and which according to reports have been marked for demolition since 2014, collapsed yesterday at Mercy Street, Ita-Faji, Lagos Island area yesterday.
Following the event, Atiku and Saraki took to Social media platform, Tweeter to show their concern.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of pupils caught up in the collapse of the three-storey building at Ita Faji, Lagos Island. No resource should be spared in rescuing the trapped and treating the injured.” Atiku tweeted on his official Twitter handle, @atiku.
Saraki, on the other hand, posted, “My heartfelt prayers are with all the families affected by today’s building collapse in the Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island, particularly the young school children who are reportedly trapped inside. I pray for their safe rescue.” on his official Tweeter handle @bukolasaraki.
