The Imo state governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has received his certificate of return today.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued certificates of return to the governor-elect along with 27 State Assembly members on Wednesday in a ceremony held at the INEC headquarters in Imo capital city, Owerri.
Presiding at the ceremony, the Returning Officer for Imo State, Prof. Francis Ezeonu handed the certificates of return to Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and the State Assembly elects.
Meanwhile, speaking after receiving his certificate, the governor-elect, Ihedioha promised to be unbiased and fair in his government.
The former speaker promised that he will abide by the rule of law and respect the constitution and due process in his government, come May when he will be sworn in.
“I will be Imo governor in the real sense of the word.” he said.
