Everton have started off the season on high but a familiar problem still remains. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford caused them alot of points last season.
Carlo Ancelotti’s swaggering Everton side have begun the season strongly with a string of emphatic victories in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was at fault for both of Fleetwood Town’s goals in the Toffees’ 5-2 romp earlier this week, with MailOnline reporting Ancelotti and his Director of Football Marcel Brands are targeting Sergio Romero as a replacement.
Romero is United’s third-choice goalkeeper this season, with the return of English stopper Dean Henderson. The former Sheffield United loanee started the Carabao Cup tie against Luton Town ahead of the Argentine, with both players seemingly still behind David de Gea in the pecking order.
Elitemedia also understands Romero would be keen on a move to Merseyside, which could see him challenge the error-prone Pickford for the No.1 spot.
