Sanai Agunbiade, Majority leader Lagos State House of Assembly, commended and described the Lagos state Governor, Akinwumi Ambode as a man of Honour and Integrity, as he displayed sportsmanship after his defeat to Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship primary election.
Gov. Ambode in his democratic disposition accepted the result and promised to give his full support to the winner.
Agunbiade, representing Ikorodu Constituency I in the Assembly, told reporters in the state that the incumbent Governor is a role model to other politicians.
“Gov. Ambode has followed a path worthy of emulation, which other politicians should emulate,” Agunbiade says, “Politicians in their quest for any political position should contest with the mindset that he/ she might win or lose, if you lose, accept it and see it as a challenge to do better next time rather than constituting nuisance after defeat, because we must accept the decision of the people and party.”
Agunbiade appraising the party’s (APC) use of direct primaries to elect the party’s flag bearers in the 2019 elections, described the election process as transparent and democratic as it gave all the party members the opportunity to exercise their franchises.
